It is with sorrow that we must announce that our foundress, artist, priestess and visionary Loreon Vigné, has left this earthly plane for new adventures is the cosmos. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15th, on the birthday of Horus, Son of Isis, after a brief period of illness. In recent weeks she had grown increasingly impatient with recent new physical limitations and while all hoped for her complete recovery, it unfortunately was not to be. Earlier in the evening she had enjoyed dining on the patio and talking with friends and staff, and announced that she believed that she had “turned a corner” in her recovery. Shortly after going to bed, a friend stopped by to give her a foot massage and discovered that she was not breathing, and despite the valiant efforts of staff, friends, and paramedics, she did not revive on this side of the veil.
Like the Goddess Isis herself and the ancient Queens of Egypt, Loreon succeeded in creating a world of beauty, richness, and delight honoring Mother Nature in the form of Isis, which has been shared and enjoyed with everyone who has visited Isis Oasis. Her charm, brilliance and sense of fun has brightened the lives of thousands.
We are only just realizing the magnitude of her loss, which is affecting so many in so many ways.
The Isis Oasis Sanctuary and Temple of Isis are continuing on the lines that Loreon Vigné established. Her family and the Temple of Isis are working together to ensure her legacy will go on to inspire and enlighten all those drawn to Isis Oasis and the Goddess. Events will continue as scheduled and new bookings will be accepted for weddings, workshops, and other purposes. The Inner Sanctum Symposium on August 22-24 will feature a special honoring of Loreon, as well as the annual Convocation in October. We invite you to wholeheartedly to attend these events to join us in celebrating Loreons life and legacy. This Sunday, an enhanced special Sunday service which Loreon had already planned will take place. All are welcome.
Her autobiography “The Goddess Bade Me Do It!” tells the story of her early life as a Beat-era artist and poet, the establishment of her enamel giftware company, and of the events that led her to Isis and to establish the Isis Oasis.
